Why is it important to have more than one treatment of the same type?
  • Replication within a treatment shows how variable the response can be.

  • Resources may limit the total number of replicates. If this occurs then a compromise between the number of treatments and the number of replicates within a treatment has to be found.

  • Depending on the statistics used in analysis it is possible to work out the number of replicated needed to show a significant difference between pairs of means.

  • Statistics plays a vital role in the analysing of results obtained from investigations. The experimental in scientific research is very important for reliable results to be obtained.
